Who We Serve

AI Coating works primarily with commercial facilities — warehouses, manufacturing plants, retail, hospitality, healthcare, and institutional environments. Commercial epoxy flooring is our default scope. For heavier-duty environments with stricter chemical, thermal, or abrasion demands, see our industrial floor coating specialization. For hospitality, retail, and branded environments where visual impact is part of the specification, see our decorative concrete finishes.

Epoxy Flooring & Floor Coating Systems

Each resinous flooring system is designed for different performance demands. The right choice depends on your facility's traffic, chemical exposure, thermal conditions, and operational requirements.

Epoxy Floor Coating

Both decorative and durable, epoxy floor coatings offer a low-maintenance flooring solution highly resistant to chemicals, spills, and wear. Ideal for high-traffic areas such as automotive shops, specialty labs, and commercial manufacturers.

Urethane & Polyaspartic Coatings

Topcoat and full-system options for environments that demand superior abrasion resistance, UV stability, or faster return-to-service times than standard epoxy systems.

Urethane Mortar & Slurry Systems

Heavy-duty troweled systems with outstanding thermal shock capabilities. The go-to choice for food processing, commercial kitchens, and wet-process environments with aggressive washdown and chemical exposure.

Novolac Epoxy Systems

High-performance epoxy formulations engineered for extreme chemical resistance. The standard for facilities handling concentrated acids, solvents, and aggressive chemicals — including pharmaceutical, chemical processing, and heavy industrial environments.

Moisture Mitigation / MVP Systems

We test every slab for moisture content and vapor emissions before installation. Moisture mitigation and vapor protection systems prevent adhesive failures, delamination, and warranty issues before they start.

Decorative Concrete

Metallic epoxy, decorative flake, and quartz broadcast systems for hospitality, retail, showrooms, dealerships, and other commercial environments where visual impact is part of the specification.

Epoxy Mortar, Urethane Mortar & MMA Systems

Decorative Quartz Flooring System

Epoxy Mortar is a heavy-duty, troweled floor topping that can be used to patch or resurface concrete. Composed of a unique blend of aggregates and polymer resins, it offers superior durability and resistance to heavy traffic, chemicals, acids, fatty greases, salts, and solvents. The product can be troweled directly onto the floor without a bonding agent and is also used for hole repairs and patch jobs.

Urethane Mortar/Slurry is a three-component system with outstanding wear performance and higher heat tolerance than typical unmodified urethanes. With strong thermal shock capabilities, urethane mortars are the go-to choice for hot washdown areas. They can be applied as a standalone system or as part of a broadcast system with industrial sand and novolac topcoat.

Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) systems are known for fast cure times, exceptional durability, and the ability to be applied in cool temperatures. For commercial, industrial, and institutional settings where downtime is critical, MMA coatings provide both aesthetic appeal and functional strength.

Moisture Mitigation & Vapor Protection

Every successful floor coating installation starts with proper moisture testing. We test every slab for moisture content and vapor emissions before installing any system. Uncontrolled moisture causes adhesive failures, mold growth, delamination, curling, and bubbling — and will void product warranties.

When moisture levels exceed acceptable thresholds, we install mitigation systems to protect your coating investment. Product and installation warranties require specific moisture content, contamination, and emission levels to be maintained before, during, and after installation. We identify and correct moisture problems early to ensure a successful long-term result.

Moisture Vapor Protection System

When to Use Each System

Choosing the right epoxy flooring or resinous coating system starts with your facility's specific demands. Here is how each system maps to common commercial environments.

SystemBest ForKey Considerations
Epoxy Floor CoatingGeneral commercial environments with moderate chemical and traffic exposureVersatile, cost-effective, wide color and finish range
Urethane & PolyasparticFacilities needing UV stability, fast return-to-service, or superior abrasion resistanceOften used as topcoat over epoxy; polyaspartic cures in hours, not days
Urethane MortarFood processing, commercial kitchens, and environments with thermal shock or aggressive washdownHeaviest-duty option; trowel-applied, highest chemical and heat resistance
MMA FlooringFacilities that cannot tolerate extended downtime or need installation in cold temperaturesCures in 1–2 hours; strong odor during application requires ventilation planning
Novolac EpoxyExtreme chemical exposure — concentrated acids, solvents, pharmaceutical, chemical processingHighest chemical resistance of any epoxy; premium cost, longer cure times
Moisture Mitigation / MVPAny slab with elevated moisture content or vapor emissions before coatingNot a finish system — applied first to protect the coating system above it

Installation Process

Every commercial epoxy flooring installation follows a structured process to ensure proper adhesion, performance, and long-term durability.

1

Site Evaluation & Moisture Testing

We assess slab condition, moisture content, vapor emissions, and existing coatings. This determines surface prep requirements and system compatibility.

2

Surface Preparation

Diamond grinding, shot blasting, or scarification to create the surface profile required for proper adhesion. Crack and joint repairs are completed at this stage.

3

Primer & Moisture Mitigation

Primer coat bonds the system to the substrate. If moisture levels exceed thresholds, a mitigation system is installed first to protect the coating investment.

4

System Application

Body coat, broadcast, and topcoat layers are applied according to the system specification. Each layer requires controlled cure time before the next.

5

Cure & Return to Service

Final cure time varies by system — standard epoxy takes 3–5 days, polyaspartic systems can return to light traffic in hours. We coordinate timing around your operations.

Epoxy Flooring FAQs

What types of epoxy flooring and floor coating systems do you install?

We install epoxy floor coatings, polyurethane and polyaspartic systems, urethane mortar and slurry systems, MMA flooring, moisture mitigation systems, and decorative concrete finishes including metallic epoxy, flake, and quartz broadcast.

What is the difference between commercial and industrial epoxy flooring?

Commercial epoxy flooring is the broad category covering most facility types. Industrial epoxy flooring is a narrower specialization for heavier-duty environments like warehouses, manufacturing plants, food processing facilities, and operations with stricter chemical, thermal, or abrasion resistance demands.

How do you choose between epoxy, urethane, MMA, and mortar systems?

The right system depends on your facility's traffic patterns, washdown requirements, thermal exposure, chemical contact, substrate condition, and downtime tolerance. We evaluate these factors on-site and recommend the system that matches your environment — not a one-size-fits-all product.

How long does a commercial epoxy flooring installation take?

Timeline depends on facility size, substrate condition, and the system specified. A typical commercial installation takes 3–7 days including surface preparation, system application, and cure time. We plan around your operational schedule to minimize downtime.
